Orders for papers may also be left with. them. . BOROUGH FINANCE. April 2. The town clerk (Mr. P. Skogluhd) has completed the borough balance-sheet and has supplied interesting comparative figures regarding the estimates and actual receipts and expenditure for the period under review.—The estimates were £16,765, the amount actually expended being £22,292, an over expenditure of £5527. The streets cost £2475 and the electric lighting £123 more than estimated. GENERAL. Aliss Dora Phillips, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. T. Phillips, of Stratford, will proceed to America by the Niagara on April 12, to tour with the Chautauqua organisation. She will probably also tour Australia before returning to New Zealand. Mr. R. Master®, M.P., will deliver a political address in the Town Hall, Stratford, on Wednesday evening next at 8 o’clock. In the dead-weight sheep-guessing competition at the Toko sports on Thursday, Airs. F. Cooper, and Alessrs. J. H. Bocock and E. Alilne guessed the correct weight—ss£lbs. Future" present and past pupils of the Toko School, also parents-/ and friends are invited to an afternoon at the school on Friday, April 8, at 2 pm. Mr. R. Masters, M.P., will be present. The annual meeting of the Taranaki branch of the New Zealand Friesian Cattle Breeders' Association will be held in the Stratford A. and P. Association's office on Tuesday, April 5, at 11 o’clock.
