WELLINGTON FIRE.
PRINTING WORKS GUTTED. OTHER PREMISES DAMAGED By Telegraph.—Press AssoJation Wellington, Last Night At F 0.20 this evening a fire broke out in the first floor of the printing works of iLankshears’ Ltd., 22 Harris Street, which spread rapidly, although th© weather was fine and calm. Motor reels from all the fire brigade stations were quickly on the scene, but the flames were soon soaring high. After an hour’s fight the fire was practically extinguished. Lankshears’ printing works were gutted, and electrical goods , of Tolley and Son suffered severely from water, as also did the soft goods stock of Dawson and Maudsley, whose premises adjoin Lanksheara’. No insurances are available this . evening. Reid and Re’d, whose premises also adjoin J>ankshears’, had their stock of oils, paints, soap, writing paper, etc., damaged by water to the extent of a few hundred pounds. Thsir stock is .covered by a policy in the Commercial Union Office.
