SECOND .TEST MATCH. THE TEAMS FOB TO-DAY. By Telegraph. —Pres«? Association Auckland, Last Night. The weather prospects look favorable for to-morrow’s test match. The teams are as follow: New Zealand.—Brice, Hiddleston, Smith, Sneddon, Rowntree, Blunt, Patrick, Sandman, Dacre, Shepherd, Mcßeth; twelfth man. Player. Australia.—Ransford, Waddy, Richardson, Liddicutt, Kippax, Iremonger, Hornibrook, Bogle, Lampard, Ratcliffe, Asher. NOTES FROM ENGLAND. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, March 30. The Yorkshire Post says that to provide a test team with trial matches of value would require two almost, equal elevens, entailing a double weakening of county strength. However interesting and important test matches may be, county cricket is' the backbone of the first-class game here. Under tte previous arrangements the Australian visits greatly helped almost all the county clubs, but If the test matches became a hindrance to county cricket the popularity of the Australian visits would assuredly diminish. An opportunity for the new team to play one preliminary match together would possibly be advantageous.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. PARENTS v. HIGH SCHOOL. 'Afternoon tea will be dispensed, and all parents are cordially Invited to be present. Tie parents’ team Is:—Lash, Robertson, Nolan, List, Hine, Dr. Fookes, Fairbrother, Palmer, Griffin and Kebbell. England received 293 extras, and gave away 476 to the Australians, who lost 399 wickets for 853 S runs, an average of 21.39 per wicket.
