Tte Rarawa arrived from Onehunga yesterday morning and just failed to connect with the mail train for the south. After putting out passengers and a quantity of cargo here she sailed for Onehunga at 8.20 p.m. FLORA TO-DAY. The Flora left Onehunga yesterday afternoon for New Plymouth, and should arrive here early this morning. She will take in 12,000 crates of cheese for transhipment to the Rimutaka at Wellington. KARU WITH CEMENT.

The s.s. Karu is leaving Tarakohe to-mor-row for New Plymouth with a full load of cement. She should arrive here on Friday morning to discharge. THE PORT HACKING. The C. and D. Line advise that the Port Hacking, which was unable to put out her New York cargo at Wellington owing to the recent waterside trouble, is due back at Wellington on April 12 from Sydney to put out 1600 tons of general cargo. She will proceed subsequently to Lyttelton and Dunedin to unload the remainder of her cargo. The Port Hacking will afterwards load for London at Nelson, New Plymouth, Wanganui and Lyttelton, in the order named. AUSTRALCRAG LEAVES GHENT. The Australcrag sailed from Ghent on March 17 for New Zealand, and is due at Auckland about May 10. PALOONA FOR MELBOURNE. The Union Company announce that the Paloona is to sail from Wellington about next Monday with passengers and cargo for Melbourne. The vessel, en route from Melbourne via Bluff, will leave Dunedin to-day, and Lyttelton on Saturday for Wellington, where she is due on TAINUI LEFT BALBOA. Cable advice has been received by the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company announcing that the Tainui left Balboa on March 27 for Wellington, en route from (Southampton. The vessel is expected at Wellington on April 16. She is In ballast, but Is bringing a number of passengers. CITY OF AUCKLAND. The Federal Line have received cable advice that the A. and A. Line chartered steamer City of Auckland left New York on March 25 cargo-laden for Lyttelton, Dunedin and Australian ports. The vessel should reach Lyttelton about April 29. The City of Auckland left New York previously, but had to return to port for repairs necessitated through a collision. THE CANADIAN IMPORTER. The Canadian Government steamer Canadian Importer arrived at Auckland on Tuesday cargo-laden from St. John. She wi.ll discharge part cargo at Auckland, and then go to Wellington, arriving there about Monday.

The Canadian Importer inaugurates the Canadian Government Mercantile Marine's new monthly service between Eastern Canada and Australasia. Four steamers will be employed, leaving Montreal in summer and St. John or Halifax in winter, Auckland and Sydney alternately being the first ports of call. THE WAIMANA ARRIVES. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company’s Waimana, from the United Kingdom, arrived at Wellington yesterday. She brought ;)00 passengers. The vessel is in ballast. ULIMAROA FROM SYDNEY. The Huddart-Parker Company’s inter-colo-nial passenger steamer Ulimaroa, which has been laid up at Sydney for several weeks owing to labor troubles In Australia, will leave the New South Wales port to-day for Wellington. v The vessel is due at Wellington on Monday.
