GERMAN REPARATION.
HOW IT CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. New York, March 28. The Berlin correspondent of the New York Herald interviewed Herr Erzberger, who said: “No man alive is wise enough to know how much Germany win be able to pay in reparations, because we cannot tell, even approximately, what Europe will :be within 20 years. We should be able to pay a quarter more than we can now if the Bolsheviks were replaced by a Russian democratic Government, or if we could do business with the United States on favorable terms. That would mean that we could perform more “I have come to the conclusion that there is only one s> 'i.tion of the reparations problem, namely the labor conscription of German youth. I could take for about 18 months every youth and man, rich or poor, for farming on State domains, cutting forests, reclaiming swamp land and mining coal, and could accomplish work valued at 250 million gold marks during the 18 months period.” —Aus.-N.Z.
