Seventy-five thousand people attended the second day of the A.J.C. autumn' meeting, which was held in muggy weather. The racing generally was of a high standard. and there was remarkably little separ- , ating the placed horses In several races. Eurythmlc’s brilliant finish was the feature of the day, stamping him as a champion. Wish Wynne, in the Flying Handicap, repeated its smart performance of a fortnight earlier, but was pushed by' Victrola. Furious won the Champagne Stakes instyle, confirming the good on Saturday. The first steeple event was practically free from mishap. Jack Friar being the only horse to fall, and he subsequently succumbed to injuries. Mooney was removed to hospital suffering from slight concussion. In the Nursery Handicap a big field of two-year-olds faced the starter. Kiltray, when near the front, fell at the half mile, bringing down five others. It seemed a bad smash at first, but all the riders escaped serious injury. Connell had fractured ribs and concussion, and O’Bryan concussion, and they were removed to hospital. The Local Handicap provided a Btrirring contest. Erasmus was seemingly the winner when a furlong from home, but was gamely challenged by Rosewalk, wfo scored a narrow victory. The takings amounted to £lOl,OOO, against ,£105,000 last Easter Monday.
