AN AMBUSH FRUSTRATED. BY DISCOVERY OF ARMS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.— Copyright. Received March 28, 7.30 pm. London, March 27. It transpires that the arms, etc., discovered in Charles Street, Dublin, were intended for an ambush of the Crown forces en route to Mountjoy prison. If it had succeeded the prison would have been attacked, with a view to releasing the Sinn Fein prisoners. The consignment of arms was landed on the Kerry coast last week in fish barrels, and despatched to a well-known address in Dublin. To disarm suspicion a Sinn Fein agent duly intercepted the consignment before delivery. An important raid was made on Molesworth Street, Dublin, the Crown forces discovering Sinn Fein propagandist headquarters, and making the largest capture of seditious literature to date, along with elaborate equipment of typewriters and duplicators. Many of the documents were addressed to Sinn Fein agents in France, Spain and Italy. Several tons of documents and literature were seized.—Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn. SINN FEIN CAUSE FIRES.
