Orders for papers may also be left with them. JERSEY BREEDERS’ ASSOCIATION. ( March 25. A meeting of members of the Stratford Jersey Breeders’ Association was held in the A. and P. office, Stratford, on Thursday afternoon, thirty-five members being present. The question of holding a pedigree Jersey cattle sale was discussed at length, when it was unanimously decided to work in conjunction with Messrs. Newton King, Ltd. and the A. and P Association should satisfactory arrangements be made, failing which the local association decided to hold one on their own account. Members present decided to give their whole-hearted support to) the enterprise whichever course was tlfp one eventually decided upon. The president (Mr. Ranford) expressed the opinion that he felt sure that aR Jersey breeders would do their utmost to make the sale a success. On the motion of Mr. Dagg, seconded •by Mr. Hunt, a recommendation was made to the council that they apprqiufi Mr. H. E. B. Watson with a view to having a pamphlet prepared dealing with the dairy and breed points of Jersey cattle. ~ - Five new members were proposed. It was decided to hold the annual meeting on Tuesday, May 31, the usual smoke concert to be held in the evening. ' GENERAL. The pupils of the Ngaere School held a .very successful children’s flower show in the school on Thursday -afternoon. All the children brought along something and a most, effective display was made. - ■ The Stratford branch of the Women’s National Reserve and the Plunket Society are entertaining Mrs. E.) Hollands, who has dune much valuable i work for both organisations, in the Town Hall on Tuesday next at 2.30 p.m. All mothers are invited to attend. Ladles are asked to take a basket. Mr. T. I. Lamason inserts a preliminary notice of a clearing sale to be held at Midhirst on Thursday, March 31, on account of Mrs. F. Keightley. Mr. C. E. James, of Stratford, has sold Kis business to Mr. A. A. Thompson, recently Of New Plymouth. Mr. James hag been held in very high esteem since he has been in Stratford, and for some time past has been president of the Stratford Retailers’ Association. He. will probably take up his residence in New Plymouth.
