Hughes and Theodore, the Lord Mayor and his political opponents. Adelaide, March 24. Constable Kinsella, at whom Tomayoff fired first, said he thanked Mr. Brookfield for saving his life. The Russian fired at Kinsella in the refreshment room, the bullet grazing Mr. Brookfield’s arm. Mr. Brookfield borrowed a revolver and rushed at Tomayoff. After the scuffling Kinsella saw the former propped into position saying, “I am done, he has shot me in the stomach.’ •‘The former landlord of Tomayoff, at Broken Hill, says the latter left on Tuesday evening with all his belongings, including a mattress, going to Adelaide for work. The woman whom he was keeping company died, and the Russian had been despondent since.
