A cable from London says the Morning Post states that Mr. lx*s!ie Wilson succeeds Mr. L. C. Amery at the Colonial Office. Air. Amery’s reported transference to Admiraltv has not been determined pending Ah. Churchill's return to London.

Miss E. V. Wybourne died at her parents’ residence at Whenuakura last week. Miss Wybourne became seriously ill a little over a week ago and little hope was held out for her recovery, although file end came very suddenly. She was buried in the local cemetery on Wednesday, and the large cortege showed the sympathy of the local people. Mr. A. A. Winslow, United States Consul-General for New Zealand, will 'eave Auckland for Sydney by the Maheuo on April 13, on route to Cape Town, to take up the position of Con-sul-General in South Africa. His successor, Air. David Wilber, who has been stationed at Genoa, is a passenger by the Tahiti, which is due at Wellington this week.

The Revs. Palmer and Strand, of the County of Egmont Nursing Association, together with Alessi’e. Ai. Fraser, chairman, and M. O'Brien, a member, of the Taranaki Hospital Board, leave for Wellington by the mail train this morning. To-morrow they will wait on the Minister for Public Health (the Hon. C. J Parr) with a<view to obtaining financial assistance towards the erection of the proposed hospital at Opunake.
