GERMAN CREDITS

PLACED IN AMERICAN BANKS. / z By Telegraph.—Prass Association. 'Washington, March 17. Information received by the Controller of Federal Reserve shows that since the war Germany has been amassing credits in the United States national banks, holding the funds in names of individuals. It is presumed the funds will be iWed for the purposes of Germany’s future trade, much of which is expected to centre in the United States. It was said that the Germans had used similar means to store funds in Holland and Scandinavian countries and more lately in London* after the British gave assurances that deposits would not be confiscated. It is recalled that the Allies included Federal Reserve banks as an optional depository for Gorman indemnity payments. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
