THEFT OF CIGARETTES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Patrick Leo, a ship’s fireman, sold cigarettes to police and a detective in a public bar, and the man was tracked to his Vessel, on which a thousand packets of stolen cigarettes were found. He was sentenced to four months’ goal. SAILOR’S BODY FOUND. Wellington, Last Night. The body of Michael Cronin, who has been missing from H.M.S. Philomel, was found in the water at Evans’ Bay. It is believed Cronin fell off the vessel by accident.
