AMERICAN FLEET.

TOUR OF THE PACIFIC. NOT DEFINITELY FIXED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyrilbt. Received March 18, 9.15 p.m. Washington, March 17. The Australian Press Association learns that Mr. E. Denby (Secretary of the Navy) has not yet definitely decided. to send, an American fleet to tour Australasia.' Mr. J. Daniels (ex-Navai Secretary) last autumn stated that he contemplated such a tour, but the defeat of President Wilson immediately put the plans ih abeyance. Mr. Denby, who himself plans a three weeks’ inspection tour of the fleet in the Pacific, is somewhat concerned over the cost of the trip to Australasia, but it is understood that if the expenses are not very large he may approve of Mr. Daniels’ plans with some modifications.—Aus. and N.Z.
