Trimble, chairman of the manual and technical committee of the Taranaki Education Board, states that the commercial classes at the Stratford Technical School are to be carried on for the present. Some difficulties have arisen, but the board is desirous of carrying on the classes and is negotiating with the department on the matter. Mr. N. J. King, a former Mayor of Stratford, is at present on a holiday visit here. At a recent meeting of the Stratford Forresters’ Lodge, the question of making improvements to the hall was discussed, and a committee, of which Bro. J. D. Murray was appointed chairman, and Bro. H. James secretary, was set up to consider ways and means of raising funds.
