THE NEXT SESSION.
A NEW PROPOSAL MADE.. TO START WITHOUT THE PREMIER. (By Wire.—Parliamentary Reporter.) Wellington, Last Night. Further light upon the summoning of the second session of Parliament to be held at a later period of the year was given by the Prime Minister in the House of Representatives to-night. “I suggest,” he said, “that as soon as 1 leave England on my return journey to New Zealand my Ministers here shall convene Parliament.” The Leader of the Opposition: “When will that be?” The Prime Minister: “Well, it is impossible for me to say definitely, but f expect to get back here in September, either at the beginning or the middle of the month.” By this means, he explained, Parliament could get through the Address-in-Reply debate and other formal business, such as private members’ days, and be ready to go on with important business up?on his return.
