OPPOSITION IN ITALY. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. \ Rome, March 11. The proposed Labor control of industries is meeting with strong opposition among old-established industrialists. Senator Cavanzi, a leading industrialist in Milan, threatened to close his factories, rendering idle thousands, if the legislation was passed, declaring that it would lAve industry to The worst elements of the laboring classes. Senator Cavanzi’s threat has caused a sensation in Rome. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. [The Bill provides for State control of the metallurgical, textile, chemical, electrical, agricultural, transportation, navigation, building, mining, and catering industries,. excluding businesses employing under 50 persons. The industries will be worked by committees of nine employers and nine workmen elected for three years. The workmen’s committee is to be entitled to full information in regard to the business, except trade secrets. Two workers in each factory are to be deputed to keep the workers’ committee informed.]
