THE PRINCE’S FLORIN.
HOW A SOUVENIR WAS LOST. By Telegraph.—Pres* Assn.—Copyright. Received March 13, 5.5 p.m. London, March 11. The King, the Prince of Wales and the Duke of York attended a military race meeting at Sandown. The Prince of Wales, despite a strenuous three days’ visit to Glasgow, broke his journey to inspect his horses trained at Bletchley, and after a series of morning gallops he motored to Sandown. The saddest man at Sandown to-day Is a racecard seller who sold a card to the Prince of Wales for 2s without recognising him. When told <who his patron was the man searched his pockets feverishly. He found half a dozen florins, but" was unable to identify the Prince’s coin, which he desired to retain as a souvenir.—Aus. and N.Z. Cable I Assn.
