SWIMMING.
ALL SCHOOLS* CARNIVAL. The. all schools' swimming carnival, to be held in the New Plymouth baths on Thursday night, has drawn the big total of 226 entries, and the best swimmers of all the schools In New Plymouth will be competing. Primary schools which have entered teams are: Vogeltown. Convent, Central, West End, Fltzroy, and the secondary teams will be from the Technical College and the boys’ and girls’ schools. In the class for boys under -fourteen there are fourteen entrants, and in the girls’ section there are twenty competitors. The obstacle and relay races have also been popular with prospective competitors. The programme will inelude a number of other competitions. THE EASTER CARNIVAL. Additional interest will be lent to the Easter Saturday carnival at the New Plymouth baths by the presence of a number of leading New Zealand swimmers. Definite arrangements have been made for a visit by an Auckland team, comprising Enwright, Champion, and a lady swimmer, and during the day Messrs. Enwright and Champion are to make an attempt to lower the present record for the 100 yards sprint.
