The Australian Jockey Club committee has decided on the fallowing prize money for 1921:—Metropolitan Handicap £6OOO, an increase of £lOOO ; December Stakes £2OOO, an increase of £500; Epsom Handicap £3000; Breeders’ Plate £1500; Gimcrack Stakes £l5OO ; 1922 Champagne Stakes £3OOO, an increase of £1000; Derby £7OOO, an increase of £lOOO ; 1923 St. Leger £2500; Sires’ Produce Stakes £5OOO. It was also decided to Include a race in the summer meeting for three-year-old fillies, weight Bst 51b, distance one mile, to be known as the Adrian Knox Stakes, with added money in 1921 £lOOO, and in 1922 £l5OO. THE OPUNAKE MEETING. (By "Moturoa.”) The Opunake Racing Club’s annual meeting takes place at Pihama on Thursday next. Splendid acceptances have been, received, and racing promises to be the best witnessed on the course. Seven hold their ground in the Cup, including Egmont Park, Alteration, and Explorer, while the eight paid up for in the Sc. Patrick’s Handicap include Egmont Park, Intpußa and Haversack. Ten remain in the Hack Hurdles, and Munition and Hushman w : li be well supported if they got to the post. Of the seventeen Maiden Plate candidates Vagrancepiece, Interest and Belle Ncir have most to recommend them. Seven figure ir the I’iesident's Handicap, and Active and Skylight should run well. The Electric Handicap has attracted a fine field of fifteen, of which Big Push, Skylight and Nemaline look as web. as any on paper. Seventeen remain in the Welter Handicap, and the public may find it bard to choose between Halcyon, Active and Munition. The Farewell Handicap has closed with an acceptance of nineteen, the. likely fanners including Big Push, War Nurse and Skylight. Patrons are promised a splendid day’s sport on Thursday, and the attenaaijce should be very large.
