GIRLS’ HIGH SCHOOL.
TO-MORROW’S GARDEN PARTY. A final reminder is given of the garden party to bo held the Girls’ High School, New Plymouth, to-morrow afternoon. The* spacious lawns lend themselves admirably to a function of this kind, and tennis croquet and golf competitions have been arranged to interest visitors. Plenty of seating accommodation has also been -secured, so that patrons may sit in comfort and listen to the music of the Citizens’ Band. There will be on view a large plan of the proposed new boarding-house, for the loan of which the Old Girls are indebted to Mr. T. H. Bates. This should receive a great deal of attention. It shows what a fine building the Old Girls are striving to secure for Taranaki girls. An interesting weighing competition has been arranged, which it is anticipated will bring in a considerable sum. Afternoon tea, provided by old and present girls, will be obtainable immediately after the pupils’ Swedish drill display at three o’clock. Players in the tennis tournament are asked to notiqe that play will begin at 1.45 p.m. sharp. Contributions for the afternoon tea or the stalls may be left at Young and Logie’s till mid-day tomorrow, or at the Girls’ High- School after 9 a.m. to-morrow.
