ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
A BOY DROWNED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Greymouth, Last Night. Christopher Hewison, aged ten years, was drowned in a creek at Paroa, near Greymouth, this afternoon, while bathing. The body was recovered. COW CAUSES DERAILMENT. Whakatane, March 8. A Public Works train conveying workers from Matata to Awakeri collided with a cow. Six trucks were derailed. A native was killed, another seriously injured, and several received minor injuries. KILLED BY A TRUCK. Nelson. March 8. The finding at the inquest on George William Bulford, who died from injuries received by beipg run over by a railway truck during shunting, was to the effect that the shunter Kinlock’s duty was to keep a constant lookout when approaching the wharf, that he should have seen the men on the wharf before they were struck. The cofoner said he would not carry the matter further. but it was his duty to send a copy of the depositions to the Attorney-Gen-avml.
