TOUR OF THE AUSTRALIANS. MINOR ASSOCIATIONS’ MATCH. By Telecrabh.—Press Association Wellington, Last Night. The eighth match of the Australians' tour opened to-day, when they met a team representative of the minor associations of New Zealand. Hansford stood out of the visitors’ team, which was led by Waddy, who won the toss from Collins, skipper of the New Zealanders. The Australians batted first, and all were out for 271. The end of the innings was somewhat sensational. Seven wickets were down for 271, and thereafter there was no addition to the score, Collins finishing with a fine average. Richardson played sterling cricket for his runs, as also did Lampard and Ratcliffe. The minor associations’ opening, after the tea adjournment, was principally marked by a capital forcing and aggressive Innings. The scores are as follows: AUSTRALIA. First Innings.
