NOVEL SOLUTION OF LABOR PROBLEM. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wanganui, Last Night. With the object of seeking a solution of the difficulties on the local waterfront the Wangaitaii Chamber of Commerce is arranging'a conference between the local Harbor Board, Borough Council, representatives of unskilled labor, employers of waterside labor and waterside workers. It is proposed in slack times on the waterfront to utilise the disengaged labor there with the local bodies referred to, and in times of rush on the waterfront to transfer casual, unskilled labor £rom the local bodies. The hope is being expressed that a suitable scheme will be evolved as a result of the conference.
