FIRE AMONG DRAPERY.
CAUSED BY ELECTRIC IRON. By Teipgraph —Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. A fire caused by an electric iron, the current having been accidentally left on when the premises were closed on Saturday afternoon, broke out in a workroom occupied by Elsinor, Ltd., in Messrs. Hallenstein Bros., at the corner of Princess Street and the Octagon. The premises were stocked with ladies’ gowns and finery, of which there was a heavy stock, and all were more or less damaged by smoke and water. The stock was insured for £2850 in the Standard Office. The stock of F. H. King and Co., Ltd., woollen warehousemen, in the same flat, also suffered serious damage by smoke and water. The insurances are £40,000 in the Royal OflUe.
