AUCKLAND TOURING TEAM. BEATEN BY SOUTH AUCKLAND. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Hamilton, Last Night. The Auckland touring bowlers were defeated by South Auckland by 209 to 186. Seven rinks played.DETAILS OF THE TOUR. NAMES OF THE PLAYERS. The Auckland bowlers will play at Palmerston North to-day. A match against Wanganui will be played to-morrow, and the first test unrftch against Taranaki wilk take place /at Hawera on Thursday. The combined country clubs will meet the visitors on Friday at Manaia and Auroa. Tie second test match will take place at New Plymouth on Saturday, and a jnatch against the combined Taranaki clubs, will be played at Inglewood on Monday, March 14. The third test match will be played on the following Tuesday at New Plymouth. The team is as follows: —Messrs. W. Ccltman (manager), W. E. Arey (secretary), Mr. A. C. Tonkin (treasurer), J. M. A team from the Stratford Club visited Waverley on Saturday and met the local bowlers in a friendly match. The Stratford players suffered defeat to the extent of 33 points, but this was compensated for by the thoroughly enjoyable day they spent. Following are the details, Stratford rinks being mentioned first:— Paterson, Ryan, Sanderson, Harris (s) 19; v. Howie, Handley, Dallison, Verry (s) 23. Woodhead, T. C. Smart (s) 28; v. Carter, Nicholls, Oliver, R. P. Palmer (s) 23. Butcher, W. H. Young, (Jarman, A. D. Macpherson (a) 22; v. Muir, Aitken, Matthewson, Merriman (s) 28. Totals.—Stratford 10.3; Waverley 136, MANAIA v. HAWERA. A match between the above clubs was played on the Hawera green on Saturday afternoon, the visitors being defeated by 106 to 77 points.
