GALLANT POLICE OFFICER.

ARREST MADE WHEN WOUNDED. London, Feb. 1. There were exciting occurences at Beccles, Suffolk, when two men entered Lloyd’s Bank at mid-day, presented revolvers at the officials, and decamped with over £lOO. The police were informed, and an inspector motor-cycled in pursuit of the thieves. Five miles away he encountered the two men, who fired when they were accosted. A bullet entered the police official’s leg, and another grazed him, but he never lost* sight. of the men, and after he had secured a rifle from a farmer, held them up and arrested them.
