GREECE AND TURKEY.
ADJUSTMENTS OF TERRITORY. NO AGREEMENT REACHED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received March 6, 5.5 p.m. London, March 5. The Greek and Turkish delegates attended the Allies’ Conference at St. James’ Palace. M. Calogeropoulos (Greek Premier) ( announced that the Greek National Assembly had considered the Allied proposal regarding a commission of inquiry into Smyrna and Thrace, and had unanimously pronounced against it. Th® despatch of a commission would be equivalent to Greece’s eurrender of rights definitely established by the endless sacrifices of the Greek nation, which the Treaty of Sevres consecrated. The proposal amounts to asking Greece to bind herself beforehand.
The Turke later admitted that they agreed to an inquiry by the Grand National Assembly. They rfre also ready to accept other provisions of the Treaty of Sevres provided they are adapted to conditions indispensable to the existence of a free and independent 'Turkey.-* Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
