PEACE TREATY.

ISOLATION OF AMERICA. DANGER OF SEPARATE PEACE. APPEAL TO NEW PRESIDENT. By Telarraph.—- Freis Assn.—-Copyright. Received March 6, 11,5 p.m. New York, March 5. The New York Times’ Paris correspondent learns authoritatively that the French Government will shortly send M. Viviani as a special envoy to the United States to plead before the new Administration and the American people France’s case. He will point out the hardships which a separate peace between Germany and the United States would inflict on France, which does not believe the United States would enter into such an arrangement if she really understood the disadvantages it would mean to the Allies. France believes America can make reservations to the treaty which will protect her sovereignty and at the same time permit her to co-operate with the Allies. M. Viviani will not speak of debt cancellation, but he will point out to President Harding that France intends to make Germany fulfil the treaty, which Europe cannot throw overboard. It is the law of Europe, which any nation dealing with Europe cannot disregard. M. Viviani will remain a week in Washington and a week in New York.—Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn.
