NAURU AGREEMENT.
ADVANCE PAYMENTS MADE. By Telegraph.—-Press Assn.—Copyright. Received March 4, 5.5 p.m. London, March 3. Replying to a question, Mr. L. C. Amery (Under- Secretary to the Colonies) stated that the advances made under the Nauru agreement were £l,483,230, which was repayable in thirty years at six per cent. The sum thus repayable half-yearly is computed to be £54,5.88, but, owing to the need of working capital and difficulties in the way of fixing the price under article eleven, he was unable to say whether the whole of this” sum can be paid in this financial year.—Aus. and N.Z.
