MACHINERY BLOWN UP. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Melbourne, March 4. The Warnambool Council’s stonecrushing plant, installed in 1920 at a cost of £7OO, has been blown to pieces. A box of dynamite was- placed in the jaws of the-crusher. A piece of fuse was found in the vicinity. A piece of weighing 1001 b was blown threequarters of a mile. A cow grazing 300 yards away was disembowelled by flying iron. Windows were boken and houses shaken, in the city.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. COUNCIL OF ACTION SCHEME. Brisbane, March 4. Tire Trades Hall is convening a conference of industrial and political bodies to consider the scheme for an Australian Council of Action. QUEENSLAND WHEAT YIELD. Brisbane, March 4. It is anticipated the wheat yield will exceed four million bushels. ■STRIKES IN NEWCASTLE DISTRICT. Sydney, March 4. A total of 83 strikes have •qccurred in the Newcastle district since January 1, 95 per cent, being for trivial disputes among wheelers. NEW JOB CONTROL SCHEME. Sydney, March 4. The Labor Council decided on a new scheme of job control, the organiser to be allowed to industry and address a mid-day meeting on propaganda. THE DEPORTED IRISHMAN. Sydney, March 4. Mr. Esmonde is a passenger by the Makura. An official denial is given to the statement that Esmonde refused to pay for an armed guard and other attendance during his detention. No armed guard was provided or charge made. PILLAGING GN THE WHARVES. Melbourne, March 4. At the Royal Commission which is inquiring into cargo pillaging, evidence was given on behalf of the Victorian Marino Underwriters’ Association that pillaging claims amounting to £28,000 wore made upon the association for the year ended last October. Other evidence indicated that an organised gang was working on the Australian waterfront.
