MOTOR-CYCLING.
SPORTS Al NEW PLYMOUTH. TO-DAY’S FIXTURE. The second annual meeting of the New Plymouth Motor Cycle Club takes place on the New Plymouth racecourse to-day, t?re first race commencing at 12.45. The fixture Is arousing considerable interest and it is confidently expected there will be a very big crowd. An' interesting and at the same time exciting afternoon’s sport is assured, as all the crack riders of the Dominion are competing as well as tte best of the local track performers. Quite a large number of competitors were at practice on Thursday afternoon, and the track is In splendid order, so that some fast times should be recorded. The Auckland contingent arrived by the Rarawa yesterday, and the balance of the southern boys reached New Plymouth by the mall train last night. The machines will be on view in the windows of Messrs. Stainton, Ltd., this morning, whilst a number of handsome gold medals Which have been donated as special prizes are on view in Mr. J. Bennett’s window. All the arrangements are complete, every detail having been attended to by the secretary, Mr. H. Townsley, and his committee.
