POLITICS OPEN AGAIN. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. Mr. D. G. Sullivan, M.P., delivered a pre-session address to-night. He said he thought Sir James Allen was quite able to represent New Zealand at the Imperial Conference, and Mr. Massey should remain in New Zealand, seeing the financial outlook was so bad. Mr. Howard, M.P., expressed a similar opinion. Mr. Sullivan received a vote of thanks and confidence. Y.M.C.A. CONFERENCE. Dunedin, March 3. The first Dominion Conference of the Y.M.C.A. since 1914 opened to-day and will sit till Saturday. The following conference officers were appointed:— President, H. W. Kersley (Wellington); vice : presidents, Messrs. Wilkinson (Dunedin), C. M. Luke (Wellington)*, J. Royds (Christchurch), and J. VV. Stewart (Auckland). It was decided to send greetings to Lord Jellicoe, who has accepted the office of patron of the New Zealand Y.M.C.A. A number o-f reports were presented and referred to sec. tional committees. The principal items of business include a proposal for the association to •enter industrial and rural centres. At present a large number of industrial concerns are asking the Association to put the secretaries into touch with isolated works where a hundred men or over are working.
