THE DAVIS CUP.
PROSPECTS FOR AUSTRALIA. BEST TEAM NOT AVAILABLE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn —Copyright Received Feb. 28, 8.10 p.m. Adelaide, Feb. 28. Patterson, interviewed regarding the Davis Cup prospects, said he was afraid he would be* unable to go to America. It was possible, though nominated, Australia might not compete for it It seemed that unless Brookes could go, and that appeared doubtful, the team could not be sent. Personally, he thought this was the very opportunity to send a team of young players, not with any hope of winning, but to gain knowledge and experience. He thought that if our best team, composed differently, could co to America it would do it did at Auckland. —Aus. and N .Z. Cable Assd.
