NEW PLYMOUTH MEETING. ENTRIES A DOMINION RECORD. j A total of 112 has been received | fdr the New Plymouth Motor Cycle Club’s; meeting, to be held on the Taranaki Jockey Club's racecourse on Saturday. Riders from all parts of ti e North Island have entered, and The figure constitutes a record for the Dominion in respect of such fixtures. The entries are* spread over seven races, and the eighth event, the Consolation Handicap, will be open to riders who have not won a race during the day. Among the list of riders are the names of well known competitors in the sport, such as Mangham (Otaki), Sweeney (Palmerston North), Coleman (Palmerston North), Whitehead (Cambridge), and A. Moller (Urenui). In one race, the Jockey Club Handicap, twentyfive riders have entered. In four instances competitors have ncuninated two machines, and have therefore received alternate handicaps, according to -which cycle they ride, this making the list of nominations up to twentynine for tte race. These big fields should tend to provide very good sport for the public attending, and the meeting will no doubt be popular with patrons right throughout Taranaki. Arrangements are well in hand for the event, and the committee have engaged the services of the New Plymouth' Citizens' Band to render a programme of music during the afternoon.
