Foreign exchange rates are: Paris, 54.05 francs to £1; Stockholm, 17.33 kroner to £1; Christiania, 22.33 kroner; Calcutta, 15%d to the rupee; Yokohama, 29d to the yvn; Hongkong, 20%d to the dollar; Berlin, 238 marks to the £1; Montreal, 441 cents to the £1; New York, 387% cents. LONDON MARKETS. London, Feb. 24. Copper.—-Spot £72 2s 6d, three months £69 7s 6d, electrolytic £73 10s to £75 10s. Lead.—£lB 5s to £l9. Spelter.—£2s 10s to £25 15s. Tin.—£l6B 15s and £l7l 17s 6d. Silver.—32d per ounce. London, Feb. 25. Si’are quotation.—Mount Lyell, 18s 4d. At the free wool sale there was less foreign competition. Sixty per cent. sold. Merinos were a fair selection and slightly easier. Good crossbreds' were a penny below opening rates. Shabby sorts were withdrawn. New Zealand Oakwood realised from 19%d to 17%d; Mendip Hills 20%d. CANADIAN WHEAT Ottawa, Feb. 25. Final returns give Canada's 1920 wheat yield 263,189,300 bushels, from 18,232,374 acres. FARMERS’ AUCTIONEERING COMPANY LTD. At Hamilton on Thursday, February 24, we had only a small yarding of cattle and sheep, and although practically everything was cleared, values again declined. Fresh conditioned cows made £6 10s to £7 10s, small framed sorts £4 to £5 10s, 3%-year bullocks £8 8s to £9 ss. No two-year cattle were yarded. Yearling heifers, small, made £2 ss, calves, best, 32s to 325, small 13s to 16s. Fat ewes were in fair demand, making from 23s to 255, wethers, small, 20s 9d to 225, lambs 12s to 13s. Pigs were yarded in fair number .and sold about equal to last week's rates. Baconers £3 12s to £4 6s, porkers £2 10s to £3 10s. WAIKATO MARKETS. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., Hamilton, reportAt Ngaruawahla on Wednesday, February 23rd, we held our annual sheep fair, and yarded about 3500 sheep and lambs. Bidding was very spirited for all classes, resulting in an all-round rise of fyom three to five shillings per head. Values obtained were as follows: —Small 2-tooth ewes 19s 6d, 4 and 6-tooth 19s 6d to 255, f.f.m. 19s Gd to 21s, s.m. 15s to 16s 9d, fallingmouth 7s 6d to 9s 6d, woolly lambs medium 15s shorn lambs (fair) 15s 9d to 16s, medium 10s to 14s 3d, small 6s 3d to 9s sq, Romney rams (2-tooth) sold freely from 2 guineas to 4 guineas. LONDON MARKETS. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., tave received the following cablegram from their London house, under date 23rd inst.: — Tallow.—We quote present spot values for the following descriptions Fine mutton £2 Os 6d per cwt.; good beef £1 19s 6d per cwt.; mixed £1 12s per cwt. Better market. Cheese.—Quotations: Colored £7 18s per cwt.; white £7 10s per cwt. Owing to large arrivals market weaker.
