INDIAN STRIKE EXTENDED.

RIDICULOUS DEMANDS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Suva, Feb. 24. The Indian strike has extended to Lautoka and Nadi. No demand has been made to employers, but the strikers’ meeting resolved to ask for 12s per day of six hours, five days’ work weekly, half pay in case of sickness, a two-roomed cottage with table, two chairs, bed, mattress and screen, bathroom and lavatory, free medical attendance in their homes, five acres of land, one horse, one bull and four cows free. There are also several political points raised. ,

The deadends are considered ridiculous and the result of outside influence. There are no riots and everything is quiet. Other centres are not affected.
