MOTOR-CAR OVERTURNS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Feb. 24. A motor-ear engaged in the AkaroaChristchurch run was returning to Christchurch yesterday with a fairly heavy load when it overturned into a ditch near Motukara. One passenger was thrown through the wind-screen an,d cut about the head, the others escaped with a shaking. The car was slightly damaged but was able to finish the journey. SOCIETY OF ACCOUNTANTS. Wellington, Feb. 24. At the half-yearly meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Society of Accountants on Wednesday a sub-com-mittee consisting of Messrs. E. W. Hunt and C. M. Bowden was set up to confer with the Senate of the New Zealand University and bring before that body several matters requiring consideration with regard to the conduct of the audits of public companies undertaken by persons other than members of the society. It was resolved to approach all solicitors in practice in the Dominion, requesting them to insert in the articles of association of public companies a clause to the effect that audits of such companies must be conducted by members of the society registered as public accountants.
