ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
MAORI BOY KILLET By Telegraph.—Press Association. Gisborne, Feb. 23. A Maori boy, -Beta Tekana Matele, was killed by a motor lorry at Tologa Bay last evening. He was riding on the county aeuncil motor lorry, and apparently struck the rail of a bridge as he was getting off. He was thrown back, and falling under a wheel, had his head crushed. A BAD FALL. Christchurch, F<2b. 23. Albert Barwick, of Woolston, who was holiday-making at Arthur’s Pass, when returning from « visit to the glacier, slipped on the rocks and fell into the river bed. Tie was found 22 htmrs later unconscious, and removed to Christchurch Hospital. He is- progressing favorably. KILLED BY MOTOR-CAR. Wellington, Feb. 23. At the corner of Tory Street and Courtenay Place at 8 p.m. yesterday, a 12-year-oid boy, -Jack Grayndler, while pushing a bicycle along was knocked down by a motor-car and sustained a fracture of the left leg and very severe injuries to the head. He was removed to the hospital and died at 6.30 this morning.
