REPARATIONS.

BELGIUM’S DEBT TO AMERICA. TO BE PAID BY GERMANY. By Telegraph.—Press .Assn.—Copyright. Washington, Feb. 21. It is understood that President Wilson will shortly recommend Congress to accept the special issue of German bonds to pay the debt Belgium owes the United States, approximately 170 million dollars. President Wilson’s action will be in accordance with the agreement reached w&h Mr. Lloyd George and M. Clemenceau at Paris in 1919, by which the Legislatures of the three countries would be asked to accept a special issue of a billion dollars in German bonds in lieu of what Belgium owes them. It is thought improbable that Congress will accept this arrangement, —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
