FLOWER SHOW.
. TO-DAY’S EXHIBITION. A splendid exhibition of autumn blooms, enhanced by vegetables, fruit and home cookery classes, is promised at New Plymouth this afternoon and tonight, when the New Plymouth Horticultural Society’s autumn show will be held in the Coronation Hall. Exhibits and entries of blooms have been made by a number of well-known growers, and there is sure to be some choice flowers at the show. One gentleman who is a noted grower of begonias has been allotted a space of 30 feet for exhibition purposes, and this should make an attractive show ; ing. ( yegetables, including potatoes, will be a strong feature of the show, and the children’s floral and cookery classes have also proyed popular. Other classes include cookery (home-made bread, cakes, etc.), preserves and honey and fruit sections. Competitors are reminded to bring their exhibits before ten o’clock this morning.
The show Will be open from 1 p.m, to 5.30 p.m.. and in the evening from 7 o’clock till
