THE NEW MINISTER.
■.MR. W. D. STEWART APPOINTED, PORTFOLIO OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. A lengthy Cabinet meeting was held to-day, after which the Prime Minister announced Mr W. Downie Stewart, M.P. for Dunedin West, to be the new Minister in place of Sir William Henries, who resigned the portfolios of Labor, Native Affairs, Marine and Customs, but not his membership of the Executive, before leaving for the Old Country. Mr. Stewart is to take over the portfolio of Internal Affairs from the Hqn. G. J. Anderson and will hold one other portfolio, while Mr. Anderson will retain Labor and the Government Printing Department portfolios, and he will also hold one other portfolio. The readjustments are to be complete before the House meets on March 10.
