BOWLING.

VISIT OF AUCKLAND TEAM. TOUR COMMENCES MARCH 19. At a meeting of the Taranaki Bowling Centre yesterday afternoon arrangements in connection with the forthcoming visit of the Auckland team were discussed. The team arrives at Hawera on Thursday*' March 10, and plafs a test match that afternoon against Taranaki. On the following day (Friday) three of the Auckland rinks will visit coastal clubs, and the remaining five Eltham, Stratford and Avon, the team reaching New Plymouth' that night. On Saturday morning the visitors will be motored round New Pitmouth, and in the afternoon the second test match with Taranaki will take place. The programme for Sunday will be taken up by a trip to the' Mountain House. On Monday morning (March 14) the Auckland rinks j meet combined New Plymouth clubs, and In ' the afternoon half, of the team go to Wai- j tara and the remainder to Inglewood, re- [ turning to New Plymouth in the evening, where they wilklie the guests of the Taranaki Bowling Centre at a smoke concert. The final test match will bo played on the following day (Tuesday), the team returning heme by boat thatV’ght. \Clubs are requested to forward to the secretary of the centre (Mr. A. T. Moore), not later than March 2, the names of members desirous of taking part in the test matches, Stating which matches they will be available for. Messrs. A. K. Smart, J. D. Sole, and S. J. Smith have been appointed selectors of the teams. ELTHAM v. STRATFORD. In a friendly game Eltham played Stratford on the Stratford green x>n Saturday. Following are the results, Eltham being mentioned first:— Bickens, Jenkins, Drayton, Carter (s) 15; v. Walsh, Fookes, Carman, Cottier* (s) 33. Tiplady, Weir, Stanners, Ross (s) 22; v. Butcher, Hodgkins, Lightband, Harris (s) 21. Carter,_ Hoyes, Stewart, Baty (s) 13; v. Patterson*, Young, Sangster, G. Smart (s) 28. Phillips, S. Holder, Astbury, A. Holder (s) 17; v.
