Adelaide, Feb. 18. Oats.—2s 3d to 2s 4d. TALLOW SALES. London, Feb. 16. At the tallow eales 2657 casks were offered and 704 sold at an average decline of a shilling per cwt. Fine mutton 435, medium beef 50s, medium 375. BURNSIDE MARKET. A FALL IN PRICES.

Dunedin, Feb. 16. Large yardings were the order in all departments at the fat stock sale at Burnside to-day. Owing to labor troubles at the local freezing works freezing buyers were somewhat aloof in bidding as difficulty was anticipated in getting stock slaughtered. Pigs were In large supply, and sold at reduced rates. It was noticed that a representative of a firm new to Burnside was operating for steep and lambs, chiefly the latter.

Sheep.—A full yarding, numbering 3314 head of fair quality, was offered, but competition was slack in consequence of the labor trouble at the local freezing works. The export buyers operations were of a very restricted character, resulting in lower prices having tb be accepted. Prlime wethers realised from 32s to 38s, medium 26s 6d to 31s, light and unfinished sorts from 22b 8d upwards; prime ewes realised from 28s to 325, medium 24s to 275, light and aged from 17s 6d upwards. Lambs.—A large yarding numbering 1721 head of fair quality. Competition was good, and freezing buyers were operating. Prices were about on a par with last week’s rates, ranging from 21s 6d to 35s per head. Fat Cattle.—A Ifcrge yarding df mixed quality, the total number penned being 185 head. There was good demand at the commencement of the sale and prices were somewhat firmer than last week's rates. Prime bullocks realised from £l9 10s to £26 10s, medium £l6 to £lB, light and unfinished sorts from £l3 10s upwards; prime bullocks realised from £l5 15s to £l7 17s 6d, medium £l3 to £l4 15s, light and aged from £8 10s upwards. Store Cattle. —>A large yarding was offered of varied grades of quality owing to the continued dryness of the season. Would-be purchasers were somewhat afraid to operate, and In consequence late values were not maintained. The sale was of a very dragging nature. Pigs,—A full yarding of mixed sorts were offered, but competition was very slSck and late values were not maintained a reduction of fully 15s per head having to be accepted in order to effect sales. ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET.

Christchurch, Feb. 16. At the Addington market to-day there were large yardings in all the principal sections. Store Sheep.—An overflowing entry came forward, principally of lambs. The demand for lambs was firm throughout, practically a total clearance of these being effected at 1 prices generally unchanged. Extra good halfbred ewe Iqmbs realised 28s Id, forward lambs 21s to 24s Id, fairly forward lambs 18s 6d to 20s 6d, medium laimbs 16s 6d to JBs, inferior and small lambs 13s to 16s 6d, cull lambs 8s to 12s 6d, good two and four-tooth ewes 23s to 23s lOd, four and six-tooth ewes 19s 6d to 22s 9d, six and eight-tooth ewes 18s 9d t 0.235, two-tooth wethers 19s 6d to 21s lid, two, four, and six-tooth wethers 20s 9d to 21s 9d, forward four and six-tootb wethers 25s 7d. •«-

Fat Lambs—About 8500 were sent forward the largest yarding seen this year. The quality was principally medium to prime. Prices dropped 2s to 2s 6d a head, freezfaig layers getting most of the entry. Extra prime lambs realised 32s to 33s 6d, prime 28s 3d to 31s 9d, medium 25s 9d to 27s 9d, light and unfinished 23s to 25s 6d.

Fat Sheep.—Nine races caune •’ forward against six last week. The quality generally was good, but owing to the excessive supply, so far as butchers were concerned, prices receded to the level of a fortnight ago. Extra prime wethers 30s to 36s 4d, prime wethers 30s Od to 34s 6d, medium wethers 27s 6d to . 30s, light and unfinished wethers 23s to 265, prime ewes 27s 9d to 31s 9d, medium ewes 23s 6d to 27s 6d, light and unfinished ewes 18s to 235.

Fat Cattle.—’32o head were penned, compared with 260 last week. Late rates were well maintained. Extra prime steers brought £27, prime steers £2l 5s to £24 ss, medium steers £l5 5s to £2O 10s, light and unfinished steers £8 to los, extra prime cows £l6 ss, prime cqws £l2 10s to £l3 15s, medium cows £9, 17s 6d’ to £l2 ss. light and unfinished cows £6 7s 6d to £9 10s, prime heifers £l3 to £l7 ss, ordinary heifers £B, 15s to £l2 15s. Vealers.-;—Runners realised £7 158, medium calves £2 15s to £3 ss, small and inferior’calves 12s 6d to £2 8s 6d. Store Cattle.—Three-year bullocks brought £9, two-year steers £B, twelve-month mixed sexes £2, medium stoie cows £6 IXJs. Dairy Cattle.—Good cows £l7, heifers £7 to £l3, inferior cows £2 to £5 10s, ordinary cows £lO to £l4. Fat Pigs.—Choppers £-7 to £7 10s, light baconers £5 5s to. £5 15s, heavy baconers £6 to £6 10s, extra heavy baconers £7 (average price per lb to Sd). light porkers £3 15s to £4 10s, heavy porkers £4 15s to £5 (average price per lb lid to 12d). Store Pigs.—-Medium stores £2 10s to £3 3s, small stores £2 2s to £2 10s, weaners £1 to £1 Bs.
