. HAKATANE VISIT ENDED. By Telegraph —Press Association. Whakatane, Last Night. The Parliamentary party touring the East Coast, after meeting the natives at Ruatoki, In regard to the land problem, went to Waimana and Nukuhou, where they were entertained at lunch by the settlers on the boundary of Messrs Williams and Hockley’s electorates. Mr. Williams formally took over the direction of the party, which left for Opotiki at 2.30 p.m. Mr. Hockley, interviewed, declared that the run around the Whakatane county had been valuable education to the members, who were very much struck by the immense area of land awaiting settlement, and the urgent need of roads, etc. The hospitality of the residents was greatly appreciated.
