EGYPTIAN SCHOOLS RE-OPEN. By Telegraph.—Press assd.—Copyright. Cairo, Feb. 14. Some of the secondary schools which i were closed owing to political trouble, have re-opened, numerous parents of the students having given the guarantees required by the Government. AMERICAN BOMB PLOT. Washington, Feb. 15. Mr. Daniels has announced that a member of the crew of the Presidential yacht, Mayflower’, has been arrested in Connection with a bomb plot to blow up the vessel. RUSSIAN GOLD SEIZED. Rome, Feb. 15. The police in Naples seized a million and a-half gold roubles on board the steamer Anconia bound for London. A STRIKE IN FIJI. Suva, Feb. 16. Indian laborers in Ba and Navua cane districts have struck, demanding higher wages. Theje have been no disturbances.
AN ITALIAN LOAN. Rome, Feb. 15. The Government is issuing a loan of one milliard lire at 5 per cent, to be devoted to the devastated areas. The Pope sent 50,000 lire to relieve the poor in Fiume. RAND STRIKERS RESUME. Capetown, Feb. 15. Most of the mine strikers have resumed work £nd the majority of the mines are working normally. It is estimated that miners lost £30,000 in wages. BRITISH WAR STORES PILLAGED. Paris, Feb. 15. The police have unearthed a band engaged in pillaging British war stores. Goods valued at 300,000 francs were found in the residences of ten of the band. The leader was arrested at Hazelbrouck after a desperate struggle in which the bandit was wounded.
