ENTERTAINMENTS.

THE PEOPLES, THEDA BABA IN “LA BELLE RUSSE.” Theda Bara has achieved a slrangs and wonderful feat. She has stepped out of herself and stood face to face with her other self. In “La Belle Russe” the William Fox . photoplay which will open to-night at the People’s Theatre, Theda Bara No. 1 may be seen talking to Theda Bara No. 2. The great star plays a dual role in this thrilling picture of feminine intrigue—a film version of the great Belasco play. She is seen as a graceful ballerina who braves dire poverty for her husband’s sake. She also plays the part of the ballerina’s twin sister —a magnificent but utterly wicked woman. In one startling scene the poor and her selfish sister confront each other. “La Belle Russe” contrasts a story of mother-love and self-sacrifice with the story of a woman’s heartless ambition. The bill includes a big (Sunshine' comedy and Fox^gazettes. EVERYBODY’S LAST NIGHT OF CONSTANCE TALMADGE “IN SEARCH OF A SINNER.” The grouchiest mortal on earth couldn’t resist the laughing lure of this bright, sparkling First National production. And what a performance Constance Talmadge puts up as the winsome widow of twenty, “In Search of a Sinner,” to replace the ultra-good fossilised old man to whom she has been wedded for three long, weary years—a man too good for this wicked old earth, who “went aloft” at an opportune time, leaving the sprightly, fascinating girl longing for something of life, alone with her opportunities. The story i? brimming over with rippling comedy, and it is. Constance Talmadge. at a best we have never seen .before. TM final
