RAILWAY TROUBLE. PUBLIC INQUIRY DEMANDED. BY RAILWAYMEN’S UNION. By Telegraph.—-Press Assn.—Copyright. London, Feb. 11. The National Union of Railwaymen’s executive decided to instruct Mr. Thomas at the re-assembly of Parliament, to demand full inquiry into the Mallow shootings, and the whole question of the government of Ireland by Crown forces. Mr. Thomas, in a statement, declared that after the shootings the National Union had requested investigation, but Sir Hamar Greenwood had not so far replied. The whole question of Ireland demanded public inquiry.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. PROPER PROTECTION WANTED. RAILWAYMEN’S REQUEST TO PREMIER. Received Feb. 13, 5.5 p.m. London, Feb. 11. Mr. Bromley, replying to Mr* Lloyd George, says his executive is awaiting a further reply. The military inquiry into the case of the railwaymen shot at Mallow, after adjourning for five days while the relatives of the deceased vainly endeavored to procure evidence, returned a verdict of murder against persons unknown.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. RAIDS BY SINN FEINERS. POLICE BARRACKS ATTACKED. Received Feb. 13, 11.5 p.m. London, Feb. 12. A hundred armed men fired on a military train between Mallow and Tralee, ,and one soldier was killed and several I wounded. A party of Sinn Feiners, estimated at three hundred, attacked the police barracks at Drimoleague at midnight with rifles and bombs A relieving party of auxiliaries was summoned from Dunmanway, and finding the attackers had escaped, they immediately called out from their beds all males and forced them, at the revolver point, to repair the damage to the barracks and adjoining buildings. —Aus.-N.Z. Desmond-Fitzgerald, a member of the ’ Gourde of Commons, and head of the Sinn Fein propaganda department, has been arrested in Dublin. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. MILITARY AEROPLANE DESTROYED. London, Feb. 11. A military aeroplane made a forced landing near Kilfinnane and the pilot sought assistance. During his absence armed men set fire to the machine and the observer is missing
