Feb. 12.—Kowfcai, s.s. (6 p.m.), 792 tohs, Hopkins, for Wellington. Feb. 12.—Kumara, s.s., 6034 tons, Kelly, for Wanganui. IN PORT. La Merced, aux. schooner. EXPECTED ARRIVALS. Rarawa, from Onehunga, to-morrow. Flora, from south, to-morrow. Kaiapol, from Melbourne, this month. THE RARAWA. The Rarawa is due to arrive here at 5.50 o’clock to-morrow morning with passengers agd cargo. She will sail again for Onehunga at 8.20 p.m. LA MERCED BERTHS. The La Merced, an auxiliary schooner from Newcastle with a cargo of coal, arrived In the stream cn Friday and berthed at 3 p.m. On Saturday, when a berth was cleared by the Kumara. When she came alongside at half-tide the La Merced was drawing 24 feet 3 inches, the deepest draught of any vessel that has entered the port. KUMARA SAILS. The Shaw, Savill liner Kumara, which had been loading produce for the past ten days, sailed on Saturday for Wanganui, fcrom there ste proceeds to Wellington, where she will complete loading for the United Kingdom. KOWHAI FOR NELSON. The Kowhai, which discharged a cargo of coal here and took in a quantity of machinery belonging to the Iron Ore Smelting Company, sailed for Nelson on Saturday night. CORINNA WITH PRODUCE. The Corinna sailed on Saturday night with 20,000 boxes of butter and 4000 crates of cheese for transhipment to the Hororata and Opawa at Wellington. FLORA TO-MORROW. The Flora was expected to arrive at Wellington yesterday from South Island ports. She is scheduled to sail from Wellington today for New Plymouth, and should ' arrive here to-morrow. RARANGA AND ZEALANDIC. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company advise that the liner Raranga left Newcastle at 7 a.m. on Friday for Wellington, where she is due to-morrow afternoon. The vessel will put out coal and then commence loading. The Zealandic is to leave Newcastle tonight or to-morrow morning for Waitara to commence Homeward loading. PORT DARWIN LEFT HOME. The C. and D. Line have received cable advice that the Port Darwin left London on February 9 for Australian and New Zealand ports via Capetown. The vessel will discharge at Melbourne, Hobart, -Sydney, Auckland, Napier, and Wellington. She is due at Auckland about April 23, and at Wellington about April 30. THE NORTHUMBERLAND. , The Federal Line advise that the steamer Northumberland, now discharging New York cargo at Auckland, will now not reach Wellington before Saturday. THE DURHAM DELAYED. I The Federal Line advise that the liner Durham has been delayed in the south, and will not arrive at Wellington until Wednesday I from Lyttelton to complete loading. The vessel is to sail from Wellington next Saturday for Liverpool, or Manchester and Avonmouth, via Panama. THE WANGARATTA. The New Zealand Shipping Company advise that the steamer Wangaratta, which Is completing her bunkering at Wellington, is now not expected to sail until daybreak tomorrow for Falmouth via Panama. PORT LYTTELTON TO LOAD. Tlie C. and D. Line advise that the Port Lyttelton left Port Kembla at 5 aun. on Friday for Whangarei and Auckland for Homeward loading. The vessel Is to leave Auckland on March 3 for London via Panama. OTARAMA DETAINED. The Federal Line advise that the Otarama is so hampered in the discharge of part of her Liverpool cargo at Auckland that she cannot arrive at Wellington until’ the 22nd Inst. RUAPEHU AT COLON. According to a cable message received by the New Ztealand Shipping Company the liner Ruapehu arrived at Colon on the Bth Inst, from Southampton en route to Lyttelton and Port Chalmers. The bulk was purchased by Americans desirous of securing shipment to America before the proposed duty fixed by Congress operates. Adelaide, Feb. 12. Competition was fairly general, and bidding at times animated at the fifth series of wool sales. Ten thousand bales were offered, mostly average wools. Bradford and Continental buyers were to the fore. Demand was brisk for good 64’s. LONDON WOOL 'SALES. London, Feb. 11. At the sales commencing on February 22 free wool will be offered. A s ib-committee of the Wool Merchants’ Assot'iah?n has arranged that all free arrivals till February 11 will be available, and has recommended buyers to adhere to valuations based on the closing prices in January. The association will consider the proposal on the 15th.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. CANADIAN WOOL OPERATIONS. Toronto, Feb. 11. The president of the Canadian Wool Growers, Ltd., owned and operated by sheep breeders, announces that the organisation sold 3,400,0001 b. of wool last year at prices as high as sixty cents a pound, and averaging for all grades 33 cents a pound. Since the beginning of January 1,800,0001 b. had been sold. Of sales 45 per cent, went to Canadian buyers, 51 per cent, to America, and the balance to Britain. —Aus.-N Z. Cable Assn.
