SUPERANNUATION BOARD. By Teleernph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. At a meeting of the Public Service Superannuation Board, nineteen contributors were granted allowances totalling £3047 per annum, and seven retiring medically unfit were granted allowances totalling £679 per annum. The board refused to grant allowances in twelve cases. In consequence of retirements under section 35 of the Act, accrued compensation to the amount of £ f 4063„ had become a liability of the superannuation fund and a corresponding relief to the Consolidated fund. MANUFACTURE OF NEWS PRINT. Auckland, Last Night. At the Industrial Corporation Conference, Mr. Frostick urged the utilisation of the West Coast woods for the manufacture of news print. The matter was referred to the Canterbury Association to report and make a practical suggestion that could be handed to the department. It was resolved that the next conference be held in Wellington.
