GO-SLOW ON WHARVES.

WELLINGTON POSITION UNCERTAIN. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The position on the Wellington waterfront is still somewhat uncertain. It is impossible to say whether the union is taking concerted action in regard to the working of overtime, and so far any action of that nature has been .confined, it would seem, to individuals who keep within the agreement. The work of discharging the Moana was commenced to-day.

TROUBLE AT LYTTELTON. Christchurch, Last Night. At Lyttelton this afternoon when the watersiders were notified they would be required at 6 o’clock most of them stated that they would cease work for the day at 5 o’clock. In some cases only half a gang would give this notice and the other half had in consequence to be put off by the employers. The secretary of the union denied official cognisance of the matter, but admitted that the cessation was the result of individual action. As far as the union w'as concerned the men could please themselves. It is alleged the action of the men is due to the fact that the employers would not accede to their demands regarding the new bonus.
